Perched 300 meters above sea level, the Notre Dame du Glaive chapel is built on the edge of a cliff on a hill where holm oak abounds. The site offers splendid views over the Issole gorges and the surrounding massifs (Maures, Bessillons, Mont Aurélien, Sainte Victoire). To the west, we overlook the Trou aux Fées, a monumental cliff with troglodytic dwellings, and to the south, the Saint Loup plain, with the village in the distance. An impressive serenity reigns here, no doubt due to the legend behind the sanctuary.
